Does Your Password Make the List?

The worst passwords of 2014 have been revealed, do you recognize any?

Sydney Morning Herald has recently released the worst passwords of 2014. When setting passwords, we want to make sure it is something we will easily remember, but these are just too simple.

  1. 123456
  2. password
  3. 12345
  4. 12345678
  5. qwerty
  6. 123456789
  7. 1234
  8. baseball
  9. dragon
  10. football

Whilst these passwords are easy to remember, you may as well be inviting hackers into your accounts. Simple, generic passwords like this are the first that hackers will try, so you need to make sure yours are unique.

As most websites suggest when setting up an account, strong passwords are at least 8 characters long and include capital letter, numbers and symbols. You should always aim to have a strong password. It may be difficult to think of a password, but it will save you a lot of stress as it will significantly decrease the chances of your account being hacked.
